Scoring Good Marks in Examinations

Parents educate their children not only to get knowledge but also to get a good job and earn money. Today, it has become necessary to earn money to eke out a livelihood. We are living in a competitive world in which success in securing a job depends not only upon the student’s ability to pass the examination, but to score more marks and to get a high rank, if possible. There may be a selection committee to recruit candidates for various jobs by conducting interviews and written examinations to satisfy themselves whether the candidates possess the required merit and qualities. Unless a candidate scores good marks in the Public Examination (10th Class or Intermediate), he stands no chance of being called for the interview. Thus, it is necessary to score good marks for selection to the higher courses and for securing a decent job. It is like the struggle for existence and survival of the fittest.
There is no magic or mantra to score marks in the examinations. There is no shortcut to success. One has to work hard, study methodically and prepare oneself for the examination. Many students spend their time in idle occupations like gossip and watching T.V. and begin preparing for the examinations when it is too late in the academic year. Their last minute efforts without regular study will prove abortive. It may even affect their health and make them fail in the examinations. Regular and methodical study of each subject will go a long way in securing good marks in the examinations. Parents themselves should desist from viewing the programmes on the T.V. and set an example to the children. Besides, they should keep a watchful eye on the movements and behavior of their wards. This should not look like policing. There should be affectionate treatment, close attention to their needs and a word or two of encouragement.
It is the duty of the concerned subject teacher to tell them about the strategies in tackling the questions because the approach differs from subject to subject. It is not enough if the teacher finishes the syllabus in a mechanical manner and washes his hands. He should explain to them the methods of answering each type of question. At least one week before the examinations , he should give them useful tips about what the examiner expects from the student. For example, essay questions, short answer questions and objective questions require different ways of dealing with them.
As far as mechanics of writing are concerned, the following guidelines will be useful in scoring good marks. Many students do not know the importance of hand-writing. Hand-writing must be neat, clear and easy to read. The examiner consciously or unconsciously allots a few marks to good hand-writing. Legibility and intelligibility are favored. Some people write beautiful letters which are not legible!
If they want to score good marks, students should not stuff their answers with unwanted material. Many students are under the wrong impression that they get more marks if they write more matter. Quality of language and brevity are given more credit. Only when the students have mastery of the content, they will be able to decide what is more important and what is less important. It requires analytical skill and critical ability to remove the chaff from the grain. Sequencing, i.e. step by step presentation will be of great help in scoring good marks.
Grammar plays a vital role in scoring good marks. It is necessary to avoid grammar mistakes. One way of avoiding grammar and spelling mistakes is by writing simple language and short sentences. Many students are in the habit of getting by heart and reproducing the matter. Such answers will not receive good marks. They should answer the questions in their own words. This requires regular practice from the beginning of the academic year.
If the answer requires more than ten or twelve lines, it is necessary to observe paragraphing. For every two or three points or ideas, a fresh paragraph should be developed. Where there is a linkage of ideas/points, the next paragraph should be started with a  transitional phrase like ‘Therefore’ , ‘Consequently’ , ‘Nevertheless’, etc. To acquire command over language, one should read as many books as possible. The teacher should advise the students what books are suitable for them. In every good library, there will be a Children’s Section containing books and magazines. This kind of training and preparation are essential from the beginning.
Now a days , many students are taking Sanskrit and French as second language subjects because there is a widely held belief that they can score very high marks which will count for the total! I have seen a few junior colleges run by private managements with three or four sections of Sanskrit language. They told me that Sanskrit is a scoring subject! Of course, we are not concerned with such scoring of good marks which does not reflect the real standard of the student. We are concerned with the right way of scoring good marks in a fair and healthy competition.

Exam Preparation Tips

Tips and Tricks For students

There is no short cut to success, this is the first thing you should remember. For this reason you have to study well first of all. But the preparations are different for different types of exams. Some competitive exams need long term preparation while your school level exams may need preparation of one or two weeks.
The 1st tip : Never fear or hate exam and be confident.
Some students study well but still may be much afraid of exams and due to this reason they get distracted and won't be able to score marks. So leave all your fears and free your mind before starting the study. You have to be confident and it is the most essential power you should have for attaining victory.

The 2nd tip: Prepare a good time table.
Prepare a time table before starting the study. This should include all the subjects but may not be with equal priority. Tough subjects can be given more time and easier ones less but most importantly some time shall be allotted for entertainment and also there should be sufficient intervals between each subject.
The 3rd tip: Select a proper atmosphere for studying.
No need to explain this point. Study atmosphere has very important role. Can anyone study well while watching TV? So select a place where you feel comfortable. That is where you feel relaxed and can concentrate. And you have to make sure that while you are studying a subject you are concentrating on it only. So keep the books of other subjects away from your eyesight so that you won't be upset about the things you have to learn. And importantly it is better to study early morning when all the surroundings will be in silence and you can concentrate more. Your concentration really counts. Never place a mirror in the room such that you will ur reflection while sitting to study. This will lead to lack of concentration. And one top secret Study facing east or more accurately North east. This will give you great positive energy and your marks will definitely increase.
The 4th tip : Sit straight
This is so important that you have to sit in proper manner while studying. Don't study on bed or lying on a chair instead sit straight. Keep your spinal cord straight. And try to place your legs parallel to ground, a little bit raised from the ground. Other wise placing the legs on the ground causes ionization and induces sleep. And be alert that legs are not above the head level. This will affect the blood flow direction and causes sleepiness. It is better to place the legs almost parallel to ground but a little lower.
The 5th tip : Make notes while studying.
This is a very important point. While studying make small notes and that should not be descriptive make theme brief so that you can remember all points while doing revision with the help of that note. An ideal note shall include all important formulae and figures and also other important points. It will be a lot worth if you use this not for the revision in last one or two hours than u skipping through pages of your text book. It won't take much time to go through this note and if you feel tough anywhere you can refer for that portion in text book.
The 6th tip: Sleep well and Eat well.
You have to sleep well.Sleep deprivation study shows that Optimum hrs for sleep is 6hrs. Especially on the night before exam you have to sleep well, atleast 6 hours and not more than 8 hrs. Remember this will have a great effect on your exam. And have your food as in your daily diet. Don't fast on exam day. This will have reverse effect, so please have food properly. There are some food items you have to avoid and some other you have to include in your diet on exam day.Check for them later in this article (in tips for parents),And don't forget tohave a glass water before you go to bed, essential to keep your brain cells charged!!!
The 7th tip : Write and Present well.
The presentation is the major factor that affects your marks. Whatever you studied or prepared your marks will depend on how you present them in the answer sheet. The teachers may not be able to read all what you have written. Remember daily they are going through 30 to 40 papers. They will scan for points. So try to present answers in points. In essay questions don't forget to underline the important points . Your hand writing also affects your marks. Try to write neatly. if it is not good enough, don't worry, if you presented it in a good manner you can score more marks. And another important factor to remember, As we all know 'First impression is the best impression'. So, answer the questions you know well, first. This will create a good impression on the evaluator and though you couldn't write some last answers well, that won't deduct your mark much. And care shall be taken so that you manage time well and is able to attend all questions. If there is any question out of syllabus, you just attend it. Usually full marks are awarded for such questions.
The 8th tip: Never malpractise in exam hall.
Dear students never malpractise in exam hall as it may even affect your marks and also some times you won't be allowed to continue the exam. If you don't know answer don't write. Keep in mind that you are writing exam for you, to prove yourself. There will be no problem if you have followed the above steps, For sure you can score good marks.
The 9th tip: Believe in God, Believe in you.
The last but not the least point pray well before the exam and your mind should be free at least 5 minutes before exam. Pray can give immense energy and peace to your mind that will definitely do good for you.And it is much important that you are confident about what you can and will always produce pleasant result.
Also remember one thing please don't discuss soon after exams. This won't do good and may affect your coming exams. If your friends are discussing question paper avoid them and come to house soon.

And above all you think about your parents their difficulties and sufferings and how they care you , you owe to them much, don't you?. The best gift you can give them is your victory. So never disappoint your parents. Study is not for them they are compelling you to study for your future. And ultimately what I have to say is that You have a lot of opportunities now.If you are serious in your studies for a few years of your life then the remaining part of your life will be fruitful and you people shall never stop study after getting a degree or a small job always look for higher studies and aims big hurdles like CAT, GATE, GRE, IAS,IES etc.So think your self and try your best.

SUCCESS STUDY PROGRESS PART

First , You must know that"what make you get separate from the super student isn't your brain capacity" .Acctually it is caused by the strategy of them is diffrenet from you . They get best result because their strategy .
Almost every student in the world have the same brain of yours . Why there're students that can study easily and answer the question without a mistake , while the others student must reads 4 times for a page and still don't know or maybe remmeber what he/she have read .The reason is the super students have an instinct to study by the right strategy so he/she can access more than their brain power , that the common students don't have . They have know the secret to study.

I am sure that the success left a step behind . If you can study and copy the strategy of the super student , you will be able to get the same result as them . You will also get the same memorize ability as them . And you can apply what you have
known to answer the difficult questions .

IF IT'S POSSIBLE TO OTHER PEOPLE, MAYBE IT"S ALSO POSSIBLE FOR ME . THE PROBLEM JUST ONLY THE STRATEGY !

SUCCESS STUDY PROGRESS PART 2

I will ask you . When do you start to study if you want to have the fibal exams ? Once more question for you . How do you study ? How many steps that you have to study ?

I have asked that questions to thousands of students . And I get thousands diffrent answer . It's wonderfull, isn't it ? It doesn't make us confused if each student get differenr score at result at ther exams . Different strategy , different result !

90% of them will answer that they start to study between one untill three months before final exams . The steps that they take are variable between 1 - 5 ! This is what i found !

Some of student only have 2 steps to study . They read they note and text book and then take the final exams . They are students that on the limit line . Can fail or pass by hard way that i means .

Have 3 steps to study . They read note and text book , remember it , and take exams . They get "C" and "D" .

Have 4 steps . They read note and text book , memorized it , practicing it , and take the exams . They usually get "B" and sometimes "A" .

But if we want to always getting "A" . We must study for final exams , from the first time we school and we must have 9 steps of study

DECIDE THE PURPOSE OF YOUR STUDY

DECIDE THE PURPOSE OF YOUR STUDY

Many of students think that the first step of study is reading their note and text book . I am sure that before you do it , the first thing that you do is decide the purpose about the result that you want to reach . What score that you excpected ?

This is important . Why ? Because the purpose that you have decided will make your own way to study amd of course the result ! If you decide 100% for your Match , Will you study using the different way with if you target 60% ? Of Cource Yes ! When you target 100% , your brain know that you mayn't make any mistake . Because of that you will study every important point that there in teh cylabus(The chart of study) ! The Result , You can get 100% score or maybe you will get 90% .

But if you only target 60% , your brain know how to tolerate the 40% of mistake . Because of that you won't be study all what you've to study , you will miss some chapters . You won't be know the 40% of 100% . And of course the result you may get 60% , sometimes 50% by hard and maybe failed

Study Tips for Exams

Study Tips for Exams

So it is exam time once again! How do I know? Well, when there are students searching for study tips, you don’t need an astrologer to tell you, that exams are around the corner! Searching for notes and exam tips when the exams are just a week away seems to be a worldwide phenomenon! The reason for it is the general phobia of exams. Everyone, whether a kid or an adult, has at least a little bit of tension of exams, and it is just that some show it while others do not. So the most important tip is to relax and not take too much stress. But a little bit of tension is always necessary, as it makes one use study tips for exams and other study material more effectively and with complete concentration. Here are some study tips for high school students as well as study tips for college students.
Study Tips for Exams
It is better to have all the study material available with you before you start reading. This not only includes your texts and notes but also the previous years’ notes and things like a dictionary, geometrical sets and reference books with you. This has two advantages, you do not need to break your concentration by searching for books, it saves time and also retains the mood of studying. Secondly, it gives you a feel of being ‘prepared’ for the exams, as you have all the necessary things and the only thing left, is to start studying! Given below are some more tips on how to study for exams.
Study Beforehand
The most common mistake that students make is, that they start studying a day or two before exams! No portion can be covered, not even halfway, if you study only two days before exams. So what most of the students do, is study only the ‘so-called’ important points. As a result, even if the paper is easy, you get a low score only because you didn’t know the entire syllabus! So start studying at least a month before the exams. If time does not permit you to learn your lessons, at least go through them regularly. This way you will be familiar with the syllabus and won’t find it difficult to understand it at the last minute.
Understand the Lessons
If you have descriptive subjects, do not just mug up the answers. Try to understand and rationalize what you are reading for this is the best method for good recall at the time of exams. The major disadvantage of mugging up is that even if you forget one word of the answer during your examination, you tend to go completely blank. Instead of this, if you understand the chapter well, you can write the answer on your own, any time! For exams like math, practice at least five sums every day. Math cannot be studied in a day!
Follow Effective Techniques
There are some easy techniques to study well, like read the lesson casually, at least twice. And while reading, mark the important points with a pencil and move on. When you start reading for the second time, read those underlined points first and then the rest of the text. Before going to exams, read only the underlined points. This is one of the last minute study tips for exams. Another handy tip that is useful specially for the lengthy lessons of geography is to make short rhyming words with each initial letter of an important paragraph. For example, for remembering the causes of depletion of ozone layer, if there points like Deforestation, Pollution, Excessive use of Resources, Things like, chlorofluorocarbon etc; so now you only have to remember DEPT (or easier, Johnny Depp!). When you remember DEPT, you will be able to remember the whole answer!
Timetable or Schedule
Make a timetable of which subject is to be done and when, and follow it religiously! This way the work will remain systematic. If you are too lazy to follow any timetables, just study according to priority. You can also start studying for the last paper first, so that when the exams are actually near, you will be doing the study for the first paper.
These were some study tips and techniques for exams. One of the last study tips for exams is to study when you are at your best mentally active state. Some people are comfortable studying in the early mornings and dawn, while some like to study late nights. Find out the time at you are the most fresh and relaxed and choose that time for your studies, as that is the time when you are capable of double the studies, than what you do at other timings. All the best!

Program to improve Positive Thinking

Program to improve Positive Thinking

Program to improve Positive Thinking I’m sure you have a bright idea hidden somewhere in the back of your mind that you just can’t wait to test out. Of course you’re not the only one with the bright idea. So what motivates you to churn those creative, or even inspiring juices to its utmost flavor?
It’s always best to set up a personal goal where you can accomplish the most in record time, maybe like mowing the lawn in an hour before the big game on TV. A correct and positive attitude in whatever you do will make things easier, and even enjoyable.
Here are some tips to make it through the week even if you’re just sitting in your favorite couch. An idea takes time to form in your head and is always at work while you are busy sitting.
Having a bit of positive thinking can help you realize things that are never thought possible. Thinking big is indeed the American Way and that what made our country prosperous.
  1. Take passionate action towards living your life by design. Talk is cheap. Action = deposits in the bank of a passionately authentic future. Without it, passion is void. This is a perfect example where dreams are made of where you start by tinkering with your mind, then with your hands. And if the idea weakens, you can always go back to it later until you finish it.
  2. Commit to yourself as well as those you love to create powerfully a life you can love. Instead of reacting, commit to creating from your heart and soul, out of love rather than fear. The American Dream will always be there, but a dream will still be a dream without motion. Be amazed as the transformation begins.
  3. Recognize and embrace the thought that each moment is perfect regardless of its outcome. Every time you hit on something that may appear too extreme, why not give it a shot and see if it will work. You will be surprised to see of there are other ways to get the task done in time. If you are not pleased with the outcome, decide to use that moment to learn from and make the appropriate shift.
  4. Dwell completely in a place of gratitude. Learn to utilize what you have in your hands and make use of it in the most constructive way. Slipping into neediness will become less of a habit when you repeatedly shift towards gratitude, away from poverty consciousness.
  5. Use a Passion Formula of Recognize/Reevaluate/Restore in place of the Shoulda/Woulda/Coulda whirlwind. The former is based in increased knowledge and abundance while the latter focuses on scarcity and lack. As you face people or tasks that may seem harder than scaling the summit of the Himalayas, allow yourself to realize that the task is just as important as giving out orders to your subordinates. You would rather be richly passionate!
  6. Keep humor at the forefront of thought, laughing at and with yourself when possible. You may find yourself quite entertaining when you loosen up! I am yet to see a comedian ever go hungry even though his jokes are as ‘old as great-grandma’. Life has so much to offer to allow you to mope around in self pity. Humor is very attractive, very passionate: life-giving.
  7. Believe that you are the architect of your destiny. No one can take your passionate future from you except for you! Create your life authentically. As long as there’s still breath in your body, there is no end to how much you can accomplish in a lifetime. The concept of thinking big is all about enjoying your work, which would lead to celebrate a discovery that is born within your hands. Watch everything flow into place with perfect, passionate precision.
It’s interesting how people get wallowed up by something trivial as learning to use a computer, when nowadays that top computer companies are manufacturing software that even the kids can do it. I don’t mean to be condescending, but that’s the idea of not having any positive thinking in your life-you’ll just end up as a dim bulb in a dark corner. So instead of subjecting yourself to what you will be doomed for, make your path by taking the first step with a positive attitude.

To improve your time management:

To improve your time management:

  • Save time by focusing and concentrating, delegating, and scheduling time for yourself.
  • Keep a record of how you spend your time, including work, family, and leisure time.
  • Prioritize your time by rating tasks by importance and urgency. Redirect your time to those activities that are important and meaningful to you.
  • Manage your commitments by not over- or undercommitting. Don’t commit to what is not important to you.
  • Deal with procrastination by using a day planner, breaking large projects into smaller ones, and setting short-term deadlines.
  • Examine your beliefs to reduce conflict between what you believe and what your life is like.
Build healthy coping strategies
It is important that you identify your coping strategies. One way to do this is by recording the stressful event, your reaction, and how you cope in a stress journal. With this information, you can work to change unhealthy coping strategies into healthy ones-those that help you focus on the positive and what you can change or control in your life.
Lifestyle
Some behaviors and lifestyle choices affect your stress level. They may not cause stress directly, but they can interfere with the ways your body seeks relief from stress. Try to:
  • Balance personal, work, and family needs and obligations.
  • Have a sense of purpose in life.
  • Get enough sleep, since your body recovers from the stresses of the day while you are sleeping.
  • Eat a balanced diet for a nutritional defense against stress.
  • Get moderate exercise throughout the week.
  • Limit your consumption of alcohol.
  • Don’t smoke.
Social support
Social support is a major factor in how we experience stress. Social support is the positive support you receive from family, friends, and the community. It is the knowledge that you are cared for, loved, esteemed, and valued. More and more research indicates a strong relationship between social support and better mental and physical health.
Changing thinking
When an event triggers negative thoughts, you may experience fear, insecurity, anxiety, depression, rage, guilt, and a sense of worthlessness or powerlessness. These emotions trigger the body’s stress, just as an actual threat does. Dealing with your negative thoughts and how you see things can help reduce stress.
  • Thought-stopping helps you stop a negative thought to help eliminate stress.
  • Disproving irrational thoughts helps you to avoid exaggerating the negative thought, anticipating the worst, and interpreting an event incorrectly.
  • Problem solving helps you identify all aspects of a stressful event and find ways to deal with it.
  • Changing your communication style helps you communicate in a way that makes your views known without making others feel put down, hostile, or intimidated. This reduces the stress that comes from poor communication. Use the assertiveness ladder to improve your communication style.
Even writers like me can get stressed even though we’re just using our hands to do the talking, but having to sit for 7 or 8 hours is already stressful enough and have our own way to relieve stress. Whether you’re the mail guy, the CEO, or probably the average working parent, stress is one unwanted visitor you would love to boot out of your homes, especially your life.
